The Tank Guy Company in Pesega presented a $2,000 cheque to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (A.D.R.A.) Samoa yesterday.

Presenting the cheque was the Office Manager of Tank Guy, Lei Craig-Silaga.

“We want to express our appreciation to A.D.R.A. and the good work that they are doing to help our people who have been affected by Cyclone Gita,” she said.

“Natural disasters cannot be prevented, but it’s the aftermath that we look at to help those who are affected and in need is the most important work we as humans can do.”

“A.D.R.A, through its humanitarian efforts, is one of the Christian Organization that has been in the forefront.”

“We have watched on television, read in the newspaper and social media the great love that A.D.R.A. shows and Tank Guy wants to be a small part of your outreach programme.”

“So we are here to present to you our contribution to assist the great work that you are doing.”

She added they have been in a working relationship for a long time.

“From such relationship, it has given us the trust to want to be a part of the great work that A.D.R.A. is doing.”

Managing Director of A.D.R.A. Samoa, Su’a Julia Wallwork, acknowledged Tank Guy Company for their contribution.

“We have a long standing relationship and in times like this we don’t anticipate disasters, but when they do happen, A.D.R.A. as an organization that reaches out to provide relief and recovery programs, is encouraged when we have partners such as Tank Guy Company who are willing and eager to come forward and stretch out their hands to support our work.”

“We have enjoyed the partnership with Tank Guy Company, we have worked with them in providing tanks for Savaii few years back, but we have also continued to work with them in other projects.”

“So this morning is a special morning for us and we are very appreciative when their Managing Director called to say they want to give some funding to help support our work.”

Su’a added the funding will go towards the food distribution.

“With the listing from the Disaster Management Organization, we are working on providing for families who were affected by the cyclone.”

“In saying that as a humanitarian organization, we look to our partners for support and because on our own we cannot do much, but when partners reach out to help, it inspires us and encourages us to work a little bit harder and extend our help to those who are really in need.”

“So thank you Tank Guy Company for this, it will go a long way to help affected families recover.”
