Team Ford Samoa is the undisputed champion of the inaugural POWERADE Business House TRI.

The event concluded during the week with the final race at Mulinu’u on Tuesday evening.

The team of Apisaloma Nimarota, Durant Webster and Steve Nimarota were consistent performers in the four-face series.

The other consistent performer in the event was Apia Concrete Products.

Ford’s victory, was ever so slight, by two points over ACP.

The event was the initiative of the Samoa Triathlon Federation which brought together very new people to the Sport.

There were fourteen teams in total over the four weeks. The distances involved was the 200m swim, 7.4km bike and 4km run. The average time for the total three disciplines was around the 40 minute mark.

All participants showed great enthusiasm and were greatly challenged by the event. It was also a great opportunity for team work outside the work environment, in a not-so-familiar setting.

Finishing third in the Series was Magik FM. Team Magik pipped Tanoa Tusitala Hotel to third spot.

At the event Prize Giving at the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel, Samoa Triathlon Vice President Mike Webster delivered the keynote address.

He emphasised the fun nature of the competition. He also expressed the joy of seeing everyone enjoy themselves at the races.

The next event for Samoa Triathlon Federation is the National Trials on 23 July. That event will bring to Samoa our overseas based triathletes in order to get their official times in official racing to be held in Samoa.
