Fiji Day is celebrated every year on 10th October.

This occasion marks Fiji’s Independence on 10th October 1970. This year marks the 46th year of Fiji’s Independence.

To help with the Fiji Community, corporate sponsors are helping with the celebrations. The S.S.AB C.E.O and President, Fiti Leung Wai donated $2,000 in support of the Fiji Day that will be celebrated at the newly opened Taumesina Resort tomorrow.

“The Fiji Community has always supported S.S.A.B,” she said. “We have worked closely over the years so I am very happy to sponsor this annual event. It is S.S.A.B’s way of thanking our Fijian friends for their loyalty to S.S.A.B as well as their invaluable contribution to Samoa.”

Chairman of the Fiji Day Organising Committee, Suveinakama gratefully accepted S.S.A.B’s donation on behalf of the Fijian Community in Samoa.

“Our theme for this year is “a strong region can only mean a stronger Fiji”, said Suveinakama. “The funds we get from all our corporate sponsors have been heart-warming. The sponsorship will assist as many people from Fiji attending this event at the Taumesina Resort. We are expecting about 300 people to attend the celebrations which will include the Fiji Bati after their game this Saturday against the Toa Samoa.”

There will be cultural items, Fijian cuisine and entertainment for the people of Fiji living in Samoa and friends of Fiji. Our Corporate Sponsors include: SSAB, BSP, ANZ, Fiji Airways, Vailima Breweries, Ah Liki Investments, Frankie Company, ACP, Apia Bottling, Tissan, DHL, Taumesina Resort, Origin, Signs Studio, Quality Auto Spare Parts, Powerlite, Tradepac.

We take the opportunity to wish Samoa a blessed White Sunday for our children and we remember also all our children in the hospitals.
