It will be a battle of brute strength
New South Wales Country (NSW) is expecting one of the most physical matches against the Toa Samoa Residence team tomorrow.
Head Coach of New South Wales Country, Jaime Feeney, fondly remembers just how physical the Toa Samoa Residence can be. Before becoming the coach, Feeney was actually part of the squad that defeated Toa Samoa Residence in 2012.
He stated, “I was actually in the team then, not the coach I was actually one of the players in 2012. I’ve said it a few times , it was one of the most physical games in my life and I’ve played a lot of footy.”
Although NSW beat the Residence in 2012, Feeney is aware of the monumental progress the team has made and is not underestimating his opponents abilities.
“ We’re expecting another really physical battle on Saturday. We know Samoa is traditionally a rugby union side, but they’ve had league for quite a few years now. I’m expecting them to be a lot better in the game than they were in 2012.”
“ We really don’t know what we’re coming up against so it’s important we prepare really well and I think it’s going to be a real battle and I think it will be”, Feeney stated.
NSW and Toa Samoa Residence will take the pitch tomorrow at 2:30pm for the battle royale.
