Descendants of Muliaga Herman Peterson, also known as Emaga, and his wife, Silā Setefano Peterson, are gathering in Apia for their reunion.

Held at the Samoa Lodge, Lotopa, the  occasion was a joyous one for family members involved.

Muliaga and Sila hail from the villages of Fasito’o-tai, Piu Falealili and Matautu Apia. Their children are Tagamale Mausali Muliaga, Ifo Muliaga, Falemai Muliaga, Gala Rimoni Muliaga, Tuiloma Tulemau Muliaga, Molipopo Muliaga and Pitoai Muliaga.

The week-long reunion, with the theme “All one in peace, heart and love”, brought together four generations of family members from overseas countries and those here in Samoa.

The family believes that it’s all about coming together with love peace and harmony and most importantly, building relationships and offering thanksgiving together as a family.

They agreed that their gathering was an opportunity to pass down traditional values and beliefs from elders of the family to many of their children.

This is the second time such family event has taken place.

Their next family reunion will be 2022.
