Finding the right kind of job can be very stressful.

That is the opinion of 19-year-old San Kuka of Aleisa, who said any kind of job needs to help a person cover all essential costs in their home.

The Village Voice team met San while on his way home.

“I work at one of the lawn mower constructions company in Apia, and for now I’m looking for other jobs to help my family,” San said.

“It’s just that what I earn is not enough.

“Nowadays it has been really hard dealing with the expensive cost of living and that is why I’m looking for another job.

“I mean, it’s not enough to cover everything in my family, especially when I’m the only one who provides for my family financially.

“For now, I’m still looking for another job because I don’t want to rely on others to take care of my parents and other siblings.”

San left school when he was in Year 12.

“We always have problems with money and that’s why I left school without my parents’ knowledge,” he said.

“So any kind of job will be fine.”

San also shared his working skills.

“I love working and I am a hard working person,” he said.

“I am a friendly person and a fast learner as well.”

He added he was also hoping to get a job real soon so he could help his mother and father in supporting his family and church.

“Samoa is getting expensive and because we are also supporting our families and church, everything is basically money.”
