“Achieving your goal is nothing, but getting there is everything”.

The phrase guided Seira Alipia Endemann of Leulumoega to the 2017 Dux of Paul IV College on Wednesday afternoon.

Held at the College’s hall at Leulumoega, the school’s end of year prize giving was well attended by families and friends.

Seira’s mother, Paula Endemann, and grandmother, Jane Endemann, were among relatives and friends who gathered to witness her success.

Seira claimed second place in Mathematics and English. She scored the highest marks in History, Geography, Computing Studies and Food and Textiles.

“The journey this year was not an easy one, but today I am relieved because of the work I’ve done and excited of what I have achieved this year,” Seira said.

“I am thankful of the support from my family and their prayers, and I also thank the Lord for his guidance and help throughout my journey.”

The 17-year-old hopes to become a lawyer in the future.

“I have always wanted to be a lawyer and I am excited as well because this is one step forward to my dream.

“I know a lawyer is not a talent, but to me it’s a passion that I have always wanted to be in order to serve and contribute to my family.”

Jane said she was very proud of her granddaughter’s achievement.

“Firstly I want to thank the Lord, and give glory unto his name.

“We have uplifted the children’s education through prayers and God has finally answered as we witness the excitement we have today (Wednesday).”

Jane says this is another beginning for Seira’s education and she looks forward to such achievements in the future.
