Tofiga Fepulea’i’s new solo show, I Gan’t beliv it, has been given a pass mark by the audience at Taumeasina Island Resort on Wednesday night.

A full house gathered to watch the much-anticipated first solo show by the former member of the Laughing Samoans.

And he did not disappoint.

From a teaser where he came out as Aunty Tala to the main show where he took the audience on a journey around the world, Tofiga had the audience in stitches as he did what he’s best at.

Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi was seen thoroughly enjoying himself – even though he was spared by Tofiga’s witty humour. He was joined by the Deputy Prime Minister, Fiame Naomi Mata’afa, Minister of Education, Sports and Culture, Loau Keneti Sio and a host of senior government officials.

It was a wonderful night of laughter.

This was the first time Tofiga has gone solo in Samoa after 14 years of Laughing Samoans with Ete.

“The show was spectacular,” said Asia Stanley. “I really enjoyed everything about from the music to the food and especially the main performance by Tofiga.”

“Wednesday night was the first time I got to watch Tofiga live and I must say he is ‘the man.’ I will definitely save up money to see him perform again on the stage.”

During parts of the show, Tofiga had some help from top chef, Joe Lamb, who hosted the “This is your life Samoa” with Aunty Tala and later played guitar for Tofiga.

The evening was hosted by the Editor of the Samoa Observer, Mata’afa Keni Lesa.

All the proceeds from the show will go to the Home of the Elders at Mapuifagalele and Samoa Special Olympics.
