Chamber checks out Taumeasina

One of the best-attended Chamber of Commerce monthly meetings took place at the brand new Taumeasina Island Resort on Monday.

The meeting was made possible with the kind assistance of the Bank of the South Pacific and Taumeasina Island Resort.

Close to 200 members attended, the largest attendance to date for the Samoa Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber meeting was followed by presentations from the General Manager of the Bank of the South Pacific, Maryann Lameko-Vaai, and the General Manager of the Taumeasina Island Resort Nathan Bucknall.

There was a touch of sadness at the meeting when members remembered and acknowledged the great work and contribution of former Executive Council member, the late Peseta Margaret Malua.

A moment of silence was observed in her memory.

Later, Nathan Bucknall introduced the newly established Taumeasina Island Resort, highlighting its exciting features as the only island resort in Samoa.

He also used the opportunity to clarify their day pass policy valued at $40. The pass can be purchased at the entrance gate for guests visiting the resort and is fully redeemable on food, beverages or Spa services at Taumeasina Island Resort.

Maryann Lameko-Vaai, General Manager of the Bank of the South Pacific, presented B.S.P.’s outlook for 2016 and introduced a number of innovative products particularly relevant to the business community.

B.S.P. services such as the Business Express Deposit Service as well as the expansion of the Visa Debit card to the silver and gold debit cards are now available to ensure a fast and convenient way for business customers to do banking.

Four new members were introduced and they were Aluminium Designs, Taumeasina Rentals & Hire, So’oula Express and L.D.S. Samoa Service Centre.

The Samoa Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. as the National Private Sector Organization (N.P.S.O.) is funded by the Pacific Leadership Program (P.L.P.).
