“What’s good for Upolu is also good for Savai’i.”

This is one of the common phrases heard from the government, when it comes to development.

However, many people have been critical about this phrase.

They say the government has been singing this tune for a long time yet the developments don’t reflect it especially if when the two islands are compared.

However, Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi assured everyone that the government is committed to improve developments on the big island saying they have assigned the Minister of Public Enterprise, Lautafi Selafi Purcell to be the architecture of the plan.

“Yes we have plans to develop the town in Savai’i,” said Tuilaepa during his weekly press conference.

“And so Minister Lautafi has been working on the plan. He (Lautafi) has informed us that he is giving his all in pushing our plans ahead and putting it into action.

“Savai’i will definitely have an exciting new look to its town, probably by the next general election.”
