A man charged with murder was granted legal aid yesterday by the Court.

Tony Eteuati Uelese is accused of murdering his own partner, after a domestic dispute.

The incident happened at Leauva’a-uta, where the partner of the accused was sleeping with her children at a family home.

The accused allegedly went to the property in the early hours of the morning and assaulted his partner, killing her instantly.

The deceased is survived by two children.

Legal counsel for the accused has not yet been confirmed. The matter was adjourned without plea to 18 January, 2016, so counsel for the accused can appear in court.  In the meantime, Mr. Uelese has been remanded in custody due to the seriousness of the offence he is accused of.
