Sheraton keeping Samoa clean

The management and staff of Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Resort at Mulifanua care about the community they are part of.

That’s why last week, they took part in a community clean up project where staff members got down and dirty to clean up the streets where people had just dumped their rubbish – most of it plastic – without thinking about the consequences.

Human Resource Manager of Sheraton Samoa Resort, Amy Ulia, said the clean up was part of their community activities where they set out to make a difference. They also use the opportunity to engage with the community.

“Our associates participate voluntarily every month to give back to our community this way,” she said.

“Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort Mulifanua’s spirit is to serve our customers and Samoa by doing these community work to make sure that we have a clean nation.”

Hotel Manager, David Stanton, agrees.

“Samoa is a very beautiful country and it’s responsibility to keep our Samoa clean,” he said.

“Our monthly community clean up under the Marriott International Take care Spirit to Serve has benefitted our associates to keep our environment clean and greener every day.

“We are part of the Tourism industry and it is in our best interest to make Samoa the best tourist destination in the world.”

The clean up day was followed by a BBQ where the staff hopes to raise funds so they can give to charities.
