Teach your children and spend time with them
Teach your children the life they should live because you’re all they have.
This is what Nameri Lusiano from the village of Manunu does. The 76-year-old father does the best he can for his family to survive.
“Family is what I focus my attention on; my wife and our two children,” he tells the Village Voice.
“Some say a small family is easy to take care of because the cost of living is getting expensive and that’s true. I try my best to use the land, to get food because it saves time and money.
“That’s the only option that we have to make things easier for us.
“We are villagers so we don’t mind eating and drinking from the land every day.
“We only have one shop here in the village, and considering it’s a village that’s far away, well you can imagine how much the products cost here.
“With that one shop, sometimes they have what you need and sometimes they don’t.
“My wife and I are teaching our children the simple life because we want them to live that life so there won’t be too much hassle in their future.
“Depend on the plantation because you don’t need to stress yourself out with what you should get because it’s always there and you can get food from it.
“My wife and I, we make a good team and we are raising our children in the best way we can and spend the most of our time with them.
“Family life has changed so much these days that some parents are always striving for more, forgetting one most important thing to give their children and their families; and that is time.
“The time you spend with your children is more valuable in their eyes than anything else in this world.”
