Be a solution, Bible College graduates challenged
Be a solution to someone else’s problem.
That was the challenge for twenty students of the Apia Harvest Centre Bible College who graduated with certificates, diplomas in ministry and Bachelors of Art in Biblical Studies on Friday night.
The challenge came from Reverend Taulapapa Kiki Taulapapa, the Superintendent of the Samoan Assemblies of God in Australia, who was the guest speaker.
“We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to live life to the fullest so that we can give God glory and bless others around us,” he said.
“If we fully obey and hear the Lord our God carefully and follow all His commands we will be blessed in whatever we do and wherever we go.”
Rev. Taulapapa highlighted the story of Joseph and how God used him to be an answer to a problem. Joseph was not only a smart man; he was also anointed and filled with the Holy Spirit.
“You should be proud of what you have achieved today, but if you don’t have the Holy Spirit, then that is no good.”
He said the problems of the world today are screaming out for people who are not just educated but full of the Holy Spirit to come up with solutions.
Family and friends packed the church for the school’s fourth graduation.
Among them was Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi who congratulated the graduates.
“Today is not about the certificate that you’re about to receive but it’s about living and walking out what you’ve learned all these years,” Tuilaepa said.
“To me there’s only one commandment in the Bible and that ‘is to love the Lord. When you love the Lord, you don’t need to steal from your brother because the Lord is in him. We are God’s Holy temple and he lives in us.”
Seiuli Ta’atialoititi Grey was among the graduates and she spoke to thank the College’s Principal, Reverend Fa’afetai Fata and their families.
“Lets us rejoice to the Lord for He hath done great things in our lives, without Him we wouldn’t be here today.”
Graduate, Luisa Tovi’o, 52 years-old-from Taufusi, said she has learnt a lot during her first year.
“What’s really interesting is that not only I’m here to learn but I’ve also learned more about His plan for me...and my relationship with Him is stronger than before.”
“I encourage anyone who wants to be part of our journey in the Bible College to come and join us...I just can’t wait to come back next year.”
