Wikipedia says thank you

Hello Savea Sano Malifa,

Today Wikipedia turns 15 years old. You’ve helped make this milestone possible. We’re writing to thank you and share our appreciation!

Wikipedia began 15 years ago as a simple dream: an open space where we could collaborate, create knowledge, learn from one another, and grow.

Back then, we never imagined that we would all come this far. We’ve succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.

Today, 28% of people on earth have never known a world without Wikipedia. Together, we have built something that helps hundreds of millions of people learn and share amazing things.

We want you to know how much we appreciate your gifts: your time, attention, and financial support. You’ve helped give the world 15 years of learning and discovery.

Wikipedia belongs to each of us and was built by all of us. It’s a public trust, a global good, a source of joy, an achievement that we can all feel good about.

Thank you sincerely for the part you’ve played.

If you have questions or would like to understand more about what we are working on, we would love to have a conversation. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Warmly,

Caitlin Virtue, Director

of Development

Anna Stillwell,

Development Outreach

P.S. Readers around the world are coming together to share Wikipedia’s impact on their lives at 15.wikipedia.org. Stop by, read their stories, offer yours, and understand the magnitude of what you’ve been a part of.
