Truck driver dies at hospital
The driver of a delivery truck belonging to Ah Liki Wholesale, involved in a freak accident two weeks ago, has died.
The man from Faleasi’u and Nofoali’i died at the hospital after he was admitted with life threatening injuries.
The death was confirmed by officials at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital yesterday.
According to bystanders, the driver lost control of the truck, swerved to the side and drove straight into a container beside One & One Mart at Vailoa Faleata.
A gaping hole in the container was seen when the truck was removed and debris from parts of the truck was seen scattered in the corridor of the supermarket.
The Police and Fire Services arrived quickly to help free the man.
The Police are investigating.
