Title fight live and free in Samoa
Samoans across the country will have the best seat in the house when their very own Lupesoliai La’auliolemalietoa Joseph Parker sets off to win the world heavyweight title next month.
The best news is that they will watch it for free.
Yesterday, TV3 announced a partnership with Digicel to bring the much-anticipated fight live to Samoa. This is a real blessing as boxing followers in other countries will have to fork out money to acquire pay-per-view.
Thanks to Digicel and TV3’s efforts though to provide for their customers, all you have to do is find a comfortable seat near a TV3 on Saturday 10 December, and you’re in.
With four wins in 2016 already under his belt, Lupesoliai is now preparing for the WBO Heavy Weight Championship to be fought in New Zealand on Saturday 10 December.
Managing Director TV3, Hans Joachim Keil, said it’s an exciting time for Samoa as well as the network.
“TV3 has been an avid supporter and exclusive broadcaster of boxing sport in Samoa since its establishment 10 years ago,” he said.
“Most if not all boxing journeys by some well-known Samoan sons, David Tua and now Joseph Parker have been viewed around the country through TV3 due to a long standing partnership with Duco Events.”
Mr. Keil acknowledged the continuous support of Digicel who are the Naming Rights Sponsor of TV3’s exclusive broadcast.
He reassured that all efforts have been made by TV3 towards full coverage of its transmission around the island for viewers to enjoy the fight and more entertainment on TV3
Rory Condon, C.E.O Digicel Samoa, said that should Lupesoliai win, it would be a fantastic way to continue the celebration of Digicel’s 10th birthday in Samoa.
“Joseph embodies Samoan values of hard work, respect and family,” he said.
“These are the values that Digicel share.
“He has gone from strength to strength since Rumble in Paradise and we are proud to be associated with him since the launch of LTE. What a way to celebrate our 10th anniversary in Samoa.”
