Good job Tavita, you should’ve finished off both statues! 

Or alternately, why not paint these statues to a likeness of brown or black? They would be more sensible then, to contemplate and perhaps truer to actual life and likelihood. 

The images of Jesus and Mary we are familiar with and have reverence for are distortions by Romans/ Italians or Europeans per se. 

These images and statues have a more surreptitious role synonymous with colonisation and the spread of Christianity and capitalism. 

It’s time to rethink this psychological and subliminal worship of whiteness and the west. It’s been surmised that the early Semites were from Ethiopia, Cush, so in all likelihood, Jesus would’ve probably looked Black or brown with curly hair! Not white with blue eyes and long blond hair.
