Café experience at the Forest
Surround yourself in the beautiful greenery of the Samoan forest, the sounds of the streaming waters crashing against black hidden rocks, and enjoy a freshly brewed coffee on the terrace that sits nicely on the contours of the Tiapapata Valley.
Welcome to Forest Café, where light lunches, popular desserts, and beverages are served with a breath taking scenery.
Forest Café is the brainchild of couple Chanelle and Grant Tormey. Chanelle Philip Tormey returned to Samoa with her family in 2003 from Australia. They decided to share their beautiful family land with the public through this homely café that has been open for less than a month.
Grant Tormey was the brains behind the design and building as the construction of this modern and ambient café follows the contours of the valley to give guests a maximum view, safely.
The inspiration behind the openness is the attraction of environmental tourism and their café being only the beginning of a grander scheme.
The Tormey’s hope that with their location, guests could appreciate the native and endangered birds, the Manumea and Maomao bird, as they serenade you while you enjoy a signature homemade cheesecake or light ham and cheese Panini.
Their menu varies from a lemon cheesecake, to lasagna and much more light treats as well as a variety of hot and cold drinks such as cappuccinos and smoothies.
This location holds the future to relaxation as well as adrenalin as the couple plan on utilizing the land and sharing its bountiful valley with guests. There are hopes to open a spa, have activities for guests to enjoy and even have an open path to immerse yourself and get amongst the green trees that cascade throughout the valley and the water that runs below.
This is only the beginning of a broader plan by the owners who are inviting and welcoming anyone to come and enjoy a nice cup of coffee by taking only a 10 minute drive up Vailima’s mountain from Apia town.
Located on Phillips road across the Bahai Temple, you can find this hidden gem where a newly constructed and well improved road leads to the gate at the end on your right into the Forest Café.
