School opens new building
Saint Don Bosco Pre-School at Sinamoga opened its new school building yesterday.
The Pre School is located at the compound of the Catholic Church at Sinamoga.
The cost of the school building is $25,000 and was mostly funded by New Zealand High Commission with assistance from families and friends of the school.
“We want to thank the High Commissioner of New Zealand for accepting our application, thats why we have this beautiful school building,” Father. Petelo Vito of the Catholic Church, Sinamoga.
“Thank you very much we never forget your support here in St. Don Bosco Pre-School.”
According to the school’s President Lagi Schwenke, the main aim in setting up the pre-school was when the church sees the growing numbers of young ones not only to their church but also to nearby villages.
“We all know that pre-school education is a very important aspect of child’s development,” Lagi said.
“Many people especially parents and grandparents are becoming aware of its importance for its has a lot of benefits to the life of children of our church, village and nearby areas.”
“The other thing that benefits our children from this school, is because it increases their academic skills and enhances the social and emotional attributes.”
She believes that teachers and parents plays similar roles in bringing up a child.
“That’s the truth, parents and teachers both need to play their role in the development of a child and it’s a must for every child to attend pre-school before going up to another level.”
“Because it will enhance their personality, social interaction and also provides a sound platform for them to develop their abilities at an early stage of their lives.”
