Four men arrested and locked in custody over drugs possession

Four more men have been arrested and locked behind bars for possession of marijuana.

This was confirmed by Police Spokesperson, Su’a Muliaga Tiumalu. 

 “The first incident occurred at one of the local hotels at the village of Aleipata last week Tuesday,” he told the media. “The hotel contacted the police that an employee is believed to have marijuana.

“Police responded and searched the accused and they found three branches and eight cigarettes of marijuana wrapped in a foil on him.”

The 57-year-old is scheduled to appear in Court next week.

The second incident was reported to the Faleata Police station. It involved 23-year-old male.

“A man from one of the villages in the Faleata district called the police that he is holding a young man who he found in his house,” said Su’a.

“The police responded and they brought the accused to the station. They searched him and found 67 seeds of marijuana on him.”

The third incident was at Falelolo.

“The accused man’s car was parked at the government reserve areas at Faleolo and the police were curious as to why he was parked there,” said Su’a.

“They found 106 seeds of marijuana on him and he is in custody until the 3rd of April.”

The last incident involves a man from Faleatiu.

“One of the families at Faleatiu contacted the police on Friday complaining about a man who was drunk and making a lot of noises at the village.

“Police went over and brought him to the station to calm him down however they found three branches wrapped up in a bingo paper and also inside his pockets.”
