Juneia Chan Chui is Manumalo Baptist School’s Valedictorian for 2016. The 13-year-old celebrated with her fellow classmates yesterday the end of their journey at Primary school together with the whole school during the school’s prize giving.

Held at the E.F.K.S Hall at Sogi, hundreds of parents and families gathered to celebrate the fruits of their children’s work.

Juneia was also awarded a certificate recognizing her excellence in English, Mathematics, Basic Science, Social Science, Samoan and Computer Studies.

She is the daughter of Peia and Louis Chan Chui from the village of Ululoloa.

Speaking to the Samoa Observer, Juneia said her journey at Manumalo Baptist School was both fun and adventurous.

And now that her primary years are over, the 13-year-old is now ready to embark on her next academic journey.

“I am excited for the future,” she said.

“I am still not sure whether I will be attending Fa’atuatua College or Samoa College next year.”

Asked about what contributed to her success, Juneia immediately credits God for his help.

“It was God who helped me with my studies. He made it happen for me.

“Secondly I want to acknowledge the support and help of my parents and my family. They encouraged me to do my best and I am grateful to them for all their love and support.”

Looking ahead, Juneia said her main goal in life is to be an Accountant.

“I want to be an accountant because I love mathematics.”

Hosana Tiumalu was the Salutatorian for this year. Antonia Ah Him came third and Taialofa Kerstin came fourth in Year 8 Class.
