Alarmed by such reckless driving in Samoa

Dear Editor

It has come to my attention the rapid spread of car accidents like a contagious disease for the past few months.

It has taken the lives of a 5 year old. The fact that you never know what would happen on the road is very unnerving and accidents happen in the least of unexpected places.

There are still some people who use the main road as race track and most horrifying part of it is that it always take a turn for the worse resulting to major consequences.

Whoever wants to race on the main road I beg you take your competition to the ocean and do some boat racing instead.

At least there, no one will get hurt, maybe the drivers will but that is their problem.

Drivers should always put the pedestrians and children as their sole priority and to be always on guard on the road especially near places filled with people most importantly kids.

We cannot blame kids for being ignorant after all they’re just kids and even if you’re right you’ll still pay for the damages.

There are a number of places that drivers should be vigilant of on their way and some of those places include schools, churches mostly on Sunday, and children playgrounds etc...

The point here is that reckless driving leads to major consequences that no amount of riches can replace and no amount of apologies can erase.
