Saints paint Sa’asa’ai Primary |
|
Good Samaritans in the form of the Sa’asa’ai Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have made students at the village primary school very happy. They painted the village school buildings, giving it new look.
The work was carried out by the Ward’s Melchizedek and Aaronic Priesthood Quorums, and some of the missionaries in that zone area. Present also and assisting were some leading matai of the village, as well as the Village School Committee.
The Relief Society sisters of the Ward were there to provide cold drinks and food for the workers and all who were present. The paint and all other items needed to carry out the work were provided under the Church’s Humanitarian Aid Programme.

“We also desire to develop our Church’s relationship with our village. Today, we and some of our village High Chiefs worked together well. It is that kind of relationship which we hope will continue.”
On behalf of the School Committee and the Village, Non-LDS School Committee Representative, Vai Talie, was emotional in expressing appreciation to the LDS Church for its invaluable assistance.
“I feel happy and uplifted in spirit because of this assistance from the Saints in Sa’asa’ai,” he said.
“I thank also the LDS Church for this assistance. As everyone knows, our village has been fund-raising and continues to fund-raise to repair and make better our school and its buildings. I feel very happy because this great assistance will lighten our burden, because this is a very costly part of the work that was needed to be done.”
