All Blacks prop Joe Moody sidelined by thumb injury
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) —
All Blacks prop Joe Moody has been ruled out of the remainder of the Rugby Championship with a broken thumb.
The 29-year-old loosehead suffered the injury during last weekend's 40-12 win over Australia in Auckland.
Uncapped Chiefs tighthead Angus Ta'avao has been called into the New Zealand squad as injury cover.
Moody has battled injuries in the past year, missing the All Blacks' November tour to Europe after shoulder surgery. He has since been sidelined with Tinger and knee injuries and by a two match suspension incurred during the Super Rugby season.
Moody is expected to be fit to play on New Zealand's tour to Japan and Europe in October and November.
