No one is above the law, new cops told

One for all, all for one. This was the theme of the graduation for the country’s newest Police officers on Friday.

Held at the E.F.K.S Hall at Mulinu’u, families, friends and colleagues of the graduates gathered to celebrate sweet success.

Prime Minster Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi congratulated the new officers. He reminded them about the importance of honesty and taking pride in their work. 

 “Be aware that no one is above the law,” he reminded. 

Acting Police Commissioner, Afamasaga Michael So’onalole, said 28 students started the programe but not all of them finished.

He added that one of the new recruits holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of the South Pacific and will be a good asset to the Ministry. 

“The eldest member of the class was a 50-year-old father who has proven that with passion and commitment we can all achieve our dreams,” said Afamasaga.

The Top Student award went to Constable Shane Tuilagi.

The Best All Rounder was Constable Lupe Ta’alo Leota, Most Disciplined was Constable Allmanda Leauma while the Student Choice Award went to the eldest member, Constable Talamesi Fuimaono.

Constable Fuimaono spoke on behalf of the Class of 2016. 

He thanked the Commissioner Fuiavailili Egon Keil and the management as well as the trainers and all those who have shared their knowledge and their skills to help them.

Constable Talamesi also thanked their families and friends who have supported them throughout the training.
