Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (L.D.S.) Charities donated 21 water tanks to the Kindomized Church and residents at Vailuutai on Tuesday.

Stake President Farani A Loto handed over the water tanks to New Zealand-based Pastor Fale Leilua, who expressed her gratitude to the L.D.S. Charities for their kind donation.

Twenty 2000 liter water tanks were donated and installed for 20 families, while the church received a 10,000 liter tank as it will also cater for the congregation.

Humanitarian missionary couple, Elder and Sister Cameron, who arranged the donation, said the gift of clean water is now available for the people of Vailuutai.

“We express gratitude for the Church of Jesus Christ and all the kind hands that have contributed in having these water tanks available,” the couple said in a press statement.

“These donations come from both members and non-members of the Church.  We also thank the Kingdomized Church for the initiative to contact LDS Charities to explain the need for fresh water in the area and for their work with other churches in the area as great things can be done when everyone works today as brothers and sisters in Christ.”

Pastor Taualoaia Taueve Olo, on behalf of the recipients of the donation, acknowledged the generous gift and joy of having worked together on such a worthwhile project.

Church member, Peresia Taeva told Samoa Observer that they have been requesting for assistance from other organisations and nothing came through, but when they got the chance to contact LDS Charities, they were surprised at how easy and quick the response was.

“At first when we did our survey we requested only seven tanks for the church and members who did not have one, but the missionary couple asked us to look out for other families in the area and neighbours who were also in need of water tanks. 21 tanks were then requested and here they are,” said Peresia.

Pastor Fale also thanked LDS Charities for assisting them despite their different religions.

“We are so thankful for these gifts. We will take good care of the tanks and make sure they are in pristine condition for prolonging use.”

All 20 tanks are under the watch and care of Kingdomized church authorities. If the families who have the tanks move elsewhere, the tanks will be returned to the Kingdomized for another family to use.
