Water tank donation to assist family

For three years, Perenise Faga and his family have lived without proper storage and access to water supply.

The family from Vailuutai was among the 20 families that received a 2000 liter water tank each from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (L.D.S.) Charities on Tuesday.

“The water tank we received will be a great help to lift the burden of carrying buckets of water daily from a great distance away from home just so that we have access to water,” Perenise said.

“We carry buckets twice in the morning and then twice in the evening on a daily basis. I am truly grateful towards LDS Charities for helping our family that was struggling with access to water.”

The 44-year-old thanked God for blessing his family with the kind donation and also wishes LDS Charities the best in the future.

“There are not many people who can help without any strings attached, which is why I am just overwhelmed gratitude,” Perenise said.

“The water tank given will be used for various purposes like cooking food, cleaning the dishes, bathing and especially for drinking, but we also have other struggles like the need to have access to electricity,” he said.

He added their family has never had the opportunity to use electricity since they lived there.
