Samoa Finance Apia Maroon’s have done it again.

They overcame cross town rival,  Moata’a in the latest leg of the S.I.F.A 7’s tournament final with a score of 17-14.

The final came down to Apia Maroon’s and Moata’a once again.  However, this was an entirely different match compared to their last face off.

The Maroon’s came out strong in the beginning of the match scoring the first try with a solid kick and chase that put five points on the board.

Despite the Maroons many ball handling mistakes, Moata’a failed to capitalize leaving the pitch at half time with a score of 10-0.

Moata’a held possession of the ball for majority of the game, but it was the Maroon’s solid defence and accurate kicks that put them in the winning seat.

After half, Maroon Tila Mealoi  pulled a hat trick with a kick and chase that lead to another try  for the Maroons.

Desperate to put some points on the board, Moata’a made back to back tries and conversions late in the second half.  But there was just no time remaining, finishing off the game with a score of 17-14.

Next week will be the final leg in the S.I.F.A Sevens tournament which will take place in Iva, Savaii.
