ANZ and Digicel have announced a partnership to deliver ANZ’s flagship financial literacy programme, MoneyMinded, in Samoa and across the Pacific.

The partnership involves the certification of 14 Digicel staff as MoneyMinded trainers to deliver the programme to their staff and community partners.

ANZ Regional Executive Pacific, Tessa Price, welcomed the partnership, describing the initiative as one that would help building financial management skills across the region.

“MoneyMinded seeks to equip participants with the skills to plan for the future, save their money, budget and set realistic and achievable goals,” Ms. Price explained.

“We’re confident that Digicel staff and their community partners will find the course tremendously useful and we’re excited to have Digicel on board.”

“Digicel very much welcomes this partnership with ANZ as MoneyMinded naturally sits within our Digicel Headstart Initiative which contains a suite of training programs designed to develop the skill-set of all our staff across the Pacific,” Chief People Officer, Digicel Pacific, Emer Jameson said.

“Our objective with the MoneyMinded program is to enable our staff to develop skills that will help them manage their money more effectively. The feedback so far has been quite overwhelming and we believe that MoneyMinded will make a significant difference to how our staff approach their spending habits in future.”

MoneyMinded has been successfully delivered to some 9000 people across the Pacific by accredited ANZ trainers since it was introduced in 2010.

MoneyMinded has also been delivered to about 355,000 people across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific since 2003.

ANZ has a presence in 12 countries across the Pacific, including Timor Leste, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, New Caledonia (Representative Office), Tonga, Samoa, American Samoa, Kiribati, Cook Islands and Guam.

Digicel Group is a total communications and entertainment provider with operations in 33 markets in the Caribbean, Central America and Asia Pacific. Digicel has presence in six countries across the Pacific namely Fiji, Vanuatu, Nauru, Tonga, Samoa and Papua New Guinea.
