You are never too young to understand the meaning of hardwork.

That is something Tulimatau Nuusolio of Toamua believes in.

The Village Voice team met up with Tulimatau yesterday, as he was taking a rest from getting woods.

Tulimatau is only 19-years-old and already got himself a job at Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Hotel.

“I work at Sheraton, the one at Vaisigano, as a pool boy and I started working from the beginning of this year.

“My working hours are okay, because I start from 6am to 3pm.

“But I’m taking two days leave to help out my family; in preparing our home, cleaning the lands, and getting other things ready.

“That’s why you caught me here with this wheelbarrow of woods, just trying to collect as much as I could for the umu.

“But I love my job, you know it’s something that I can do and for me it’s easy.

Tulimatau is the eldest of six children and he tries his best to lead by good examples for his younger siblings.

“My dad and I are the only ones working for this family; I guess you can say we are the breadwinners of the family.

“Not only that but we also have our own shop in the village as another source of income.”

Tulimatau tries to always live his life in the safe lane.

“I don’t drink, I don’t smoke because why would I want to destroy my health and keep life short with those things?

“I mean to me it’s just a waste of time.

“I spend my Saturdays sharing the word of God to other people, because I’m a missionary from the Assembly church.

“I may not look like it but that’s who I am and I am who I am because my parents are my role models.

“My father was the one who also helped me in finding a job so that’s why I always put them first.

“They help me with everything that I need.”
