Sania Pulelua of Afega and Vaiusu knows that life isn’t easy.

In order to survive you must be willing to work hard no matter what.

Aged 32, Sania is able to provide food for his family from his plantation.

“This is what I do every day,” he said. “No matter how hot the sun and sometimes rain, I still come out here for my plantation.

“It’s not an easy way to live but it’s necessary in order for our family to be able to live.

“The hardest part is that I don’t have a wife to help me out, I do the work alone but I believe God  is still working to look for a perfect one for me.”

In the meantime, Sania shares his views about life and hardship.

“The way I see it, it’s a family’s own fault when they cannot provide for themselves because they don’t work.”

Sania say that many people know the value of hard work but more do not.

He says people who don’t work hard are the ones asking and begging for help.

“Yes everyone needs help in life but people need to help themselves before others help them,” he said.

“As you can see, around the town area, there are more and more people begging for help.

“Why do you think they need help? Because they don’t want to work.

“Nowadays, hard work is all that matters and whatever the challenges, do you best.

“As you can see, the sun is hot right now but what motivates me is my family.”

Sania said the plantation isn’t the only place he works to earn for his family.

“When crops are not ready to sell, I make my way down to the ocean.

“I am the one who provides for the family. If I sit around then we won’t have anything.”
