Samoa becomes the cultural heart of the South Pacific today, as the most powerful influencers, movers and shakers from the global travel industry descend upon beautiful Samoa.

They are in the country for the Samoa Tourism Exchange (S.T.E.) 2018.

These travel experts will enjoy everything Samoa has to offer and receive updates on some of their favourite Samoan products to promote Samoa to its key source markets.

Trade and media from Australia, New Zealand, American Samoa, China, South Korea, USA, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom and Europe will meet with local operators for product updates, selling tips and experience properties for themselves during the S.T.E.

The annual gathering of travel industry movers and shakers will kick off today, signaling the start of a three day networking event.

Delegates will attend a pre S.T.E. 2018 famil with property inspections and activities across Samoa as well as a Food and Cultural tour for all international buyers at the Samoa Cultural Village in Apia.

“The Samoa Tourism Exchange is one of the most important events on the Samoa Tourism calendar,” says Papali’i Sonja Hunter, C.E.O. of Samoa Tourism Authority.

“It is our opportunity to reaffirm and strengthen our travel industry partnerships and alliances and gives us another opportunity to wow the world with what Samoa has to offer.

“Declared by the Government as the Samoa Tourism Year, 2018, it is shaping up to be a dynamic and exciting year for our nation, with a focus on keeping it beautiful and keeping it real, through promotion of our friendly people, unique culture, delicious cuisine and pristine surroundings.”

The S.T.E. 2018 is from April 30th to May 2nd.

The official opening ceremony will be held at the Taumeasina Island Resort today.

Appointments between locals and wholesalers will be held at the state of the art Samoa Conference Centre at the T.A.T.T.E. Building in Sogi on the second day.

The closing ceremony will be held at the Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Resort.
