Life is much better when we work together in unity and love one another no matter what.

That is the opinion of Sefo Bourne, aged 39 from the village of Le’auva’a.

Opinions may vary about the issue of churches in Samoa but for the 49-year-old, he believes that Samoa is a Christian country and we should unite as a nation founded on God.

“I am a father who loves to pray,” said Sefo.

“I believe in the power of prayer and I know that God is real. Only he can bring peace to our hearts and can also calm any storm or any challenge we face in this world we live in.

“As you know, nothing is easy in this world. We all have good days and bad days.

“But that shouldn’t defeat us and our faith. Most of the challenges we face in life are there to challenge and test our faith. But we should never get down. We should never give up.”

He went on to say that no matter what we go through in life, God is the only answer to our problems.

Moreover, Sefo believes that our people should follow the Constitution of our country, which says Samoa is founded on God.

“We should all build that strong foundation for our children. Whether you are Catholic or Methodist, we are all worshiping one god.

“He can help us out with whatever we go through in life. He is our provider and protector. We shouldn’t just talk about him and say his name and not believe in Him.

“Whatever you face, talk to Him and ask Him for help.

“Rely on God and lean on Him.”

Moreover, Oliva believes that there is unity if we all have an understanding that we are worshipping one great God.

“One of Jesus’ commandments is to love one another as you love yourself. And you can’t say you love God when you hate your brother.

“If we all believe in this, there will be no tensions among the churches in Samoa. This should unite us all and encourage us to love and obey one another.

“If we do that, there will be no conflicts in a country like Samoa.

“We’ve all heard about the story of Jesus Christ and how He came to earth to provide salvation for us all.

“For me, I believe that we need to put Him first in all that we do. Whenever you do something or make a decision, we should always ask God first.

“He can guide us through the storm.”
