Eseta Fuiava of Fasito’o tai is a young woman with bigs dreams.

The 17-year-old wants to become a lawyer.

Eseta currently attends Leulumoega College.

“Every one of us has a dream for the future and my dream is to become a lawyer,” she told the Village Voice.

“I’m not sure how I’m going to get there yet but all I know is; focusing on my education and making sure I do well is a good start.

“My family are supporting my education as well as the education of my other siblings. They are doing this because they want us to become successful in the future.”

Eseta is the youngest in her family.

“I am thankful to have an opportunity to study because it means there’s actually hope for me to get to my dream. I’m thankful to God and I’m thankful to my parents,” she said.

“I understand it is not an easy job to earn money just so your school fee gets paid. I’ve seen and I’ve heard of the many families that cannot afford to put their children in school and in some way; that also motivates me to use the opportunity wisely.

“That’s why I always advise other students to try their best at school because they don’t know the struggles that their parents are going through just so their children can continue on with their studies.

“Obedience and honesty in our studies is what we should offer in return; both to our parents and our teachers. These are the people that are leading you to a better future.

“We don’t just sit around at home and then suddenly we become smart, no. Knowledge is something we have to earn through learning and practice at school.

“I want to help my family someday with all I have and I dream to become a lawyer to make that happen.

She advised: “If you don’t feel motivated to finish school; think about your parents. Think about how many times they are struggling to work for that money to pay your school fees and buy your lunch. We all know it’s not easy so think of that whenever you feel like giving up.”
