No matter how difficult life gets, we are always going to survive because God will never abandon his people.
Nofo Lui, of Matatufu, is a man of faith; one who strongly believes we can conquer anything.
He’s living life as a farmer, married, and has an 11-year-old son.
“The cost of living is expensive and that’s the reality,” he said.
“For a farmer like me, I can’t even afford any of the agrochemicals that I need to take care of my plantation.
“But you know, these are the things I need so I can make sure that’s my plantation is going to keep on growing because this is my way of earning money by selling it at the market.
“We need funds to develop what were working on because this is for my family that’s why this is important to me.
For water, we don’t have a tap of our own; the government’s water doesn’t reach us so we mostly save water from the rain and if it doesn’t rain, then we go to our neighbors for water.
“The same thing goes for electricity; we don’t have any access to power.
“For example, I’m always charging my phone in other family’s homes because we don’t have access to electricity yet.
“It’s hard because water and electricity are things that most people need nowadays because they have become useful in matters of life.
“So I’m not telling all of these as a sign that I’ve had enough, but I’m telling you because no matter how things are, or how fast life changes, whether we struggle badly, we will still survive.
“And honestly, no matter what happens I still choose this life, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
