Silver medal celebration at Vaitele
The Samoa Amateur Boxing Association celebrated the success of the Commonwealth Games silver medallist, Ato Plodzicki Faoagali, on Friday night.
The Australian-based young sensation flew to Samoa this week to celebrate his achievement with his teammates, supporters and members of S.A.B.A. The celebration was held at the Poloa Compound in Vaitele.
S.A.B.A. President, Papali’i Tagaloa Poloa, congratulated the team, especially Ato for making Samoa so proud. Rev. Apisaloma of the Aleisa Congregational Christian Church of Samoa said the glory belongs to God who gives victory.
A traditional ava ceremony honoured the team of silver medalist, Ato Plodzicki Faoagali.
The only other boxer present was Henry Tyrell as well as Team Manager Tavu’i Mike Lemisio, and Coach Lionel Elika Fatupaito.
Valenttine Kondakav, who is based in Russia, and Frank Masoe, who is based in New Zealand, could not make the ceremony.
Coach Fatupaito acknowledged the support of the Association and the whole of Samoa.
He added that this is only the beginning of more exciting results for S.A.B.A.
