As part of the Sheraton’s monthly birthday luncheon, one special lady had much to celebrate.

Yesterday, Ms. Kunivia Pita celebrated 50 years of life of which  30 of those years spent working for the Aggie Grey’s Hotel, now rebranded as the Sheraton Aggie Grey’s Hotel and Bungalows.

As a chef, Ms. Pita is a hard worker and divides her time between both locations and a number of staff have flourished under her supervision.

Ms. Pita began working when she was 19.

She says it was her father, Leota Pita Toala who started it all and she hasn’t looked back since.

Thirty years later, she still loves what she does.

“Well, they’re like a family to me. It feels good,” she said.

“I said to myself, they’ve been so good to me and I have to return the favour and I like what I do. “

As a mother, Ms. Pita said that the younger generation is what keeps her going.

“Our young people, especially the local people.  I need to give them my help and give them hope.”

Ms. Pita would like to thank La’auli Allen Grey and Marina Grey for their loving kindness and support they’ve shown over the years.
