Bluesky Samoa has stepped up to offer hoteliers innovative communication and entertainment products, taking into account industry constraints.

Recognizing the importance of the tourism industry as a driver for the growth of Samoa’s economy, Bluesky Samoa has committed additional resources in the formulation of these competitive products and services to support members of the Association.

This message was well received and delivered by Bluesky’s Sales team, Lauina Pauga and Taalolo Ainuu, Sales Director, Dave Main, and Country Manager, Alex Abraham to the Association’s members at a S.H.A General Meeting held at the Bluesky’s Conference Room on Tuesday.

Bluesky Samoa, who also sponsored the members’ general meeting, expressed their commitment to work with hoteliers to provide a variety of new and innovative tech savvy competitive products that will assist the membership with offering attractive, affordable, and reliable services such as WIFI and mobile internet access and connectivity.

“We challenged Bluesky to come up with some products and services that will assist with progressing Samoa’s competitiveness in the region – I am happy to say that they have stepped up to the challenge to offer our members packages that will not only assist with operational costs but will definitely attract guests to our properties,” said S.H.A President, Adele Kruse.

The Samoa Hotel Association also invited the Associate Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi to preface Bluesky Samoa’s presentation with a synopsis of government’s vision and plans for Communications and Information Technology over the next five years.

“The Government of Samoa recognizes the significant contribution of the Tourism and the Hospitality sector to the economy,” said Lealailepule.

“Costs of Internet continue to be the main challenge for the industry however with the upcoming undersea fibre cable there will be a huge and significant change in I.C.T for Samoa in terms of capacity, efficiency and accessibility and most importantly affordability for the industry and all of Samoa.”

The Associate Minister also coined ‘AEA’, a new expression and acronym for the members, depicting the relevance of competition in today’s region and Samoa’s drive to achieve ‘accessible, efficient, and affordable’ internet and communication connectivity.

Included in the Agenda for the general meeting was the member endorsement of the amendments to the S.H.A Constitution reviewed by Brunt Law Firm as well as the official distribution of S.H.A’s new Housekeeping Training Video and Resources compiled with the assistance of Kate Payne, V.S.A.
