Lotofaga welcomes eleven new chiefs
The village of Lotofaga welcomed eleven new matai titleholders yesterday.
The titles conferred included Oloali’i (nine), Tagoa’e (one) and Logotaua (one).
Sa’o of the family, Lemauga Fiso, reminded them that matai titles are all about serving and loving others.
“Being a servant and the thing about service is that it requires hard work, not just sitting around and doing nothing."
“This is our family and our main root. It is where God called us to live and serve for the rest of our lives in peace and harmony,” he said.
Sa’o told the new titleholders to rely on God in everything.
“It’s an easy role but remember to put God first then all things will fall into place. May his peace be with us today and forever.”
The ceremony ended with traditional formalities.
