Samoan rugby mourns passing of promising Vaimoso player

The Rugby fraternity in Samoa is in mourning after a 27-year-old Apia Union Rugby player died early this morning from a suspected head injury during a rugby Game last Saturday at the HPU Rugby Field in Tuana’imato. Faiva Tagatauli, 27, was playing for his Club Vaimoso at a Senior A competition.

Child vendors and embracing life’s building blocks

It is good to see progress being made this week on addressing a major issue facing Samoa – child vendors and the long-term implications of their lack of education. Seeing pictures taken yesterday of children vendors at an Apia conference ¬– whom we would normally see around shops with their plastic baskets trying to sell popcorn, match boxes, cotton buds and other items to the public – was an eye opener.

Re: P.M. and villager leaders Wendy, you will remain confused if you jump to conclusions. Nowhere in the report does it say the mayors are the last word in the village. The P.M. did not elevate the mayors as the head of the villages.
