Hotels Association members gather
Members of the Samoa Hotels Association (S.H.A) enjoyed an informative September General Meeting hosted and sponsored by the brand new Taumeasina Island Resort.
Part of the agenda was a comprehensive Executive and Secretariat Update as well as presentations from the Apia Waterfront Development Project team and the committee for the upcoming Samoana Jazz Festival.
Oceania Gas Limited was also available for members to claim their exclusive SHA packages and deals.
The Association also invited the Associate Minister for Tourism, Amituanai Fagaivalu Kenrick, to speak about the government’s plans for tourism envisaged for the next five years.
“Apart from Destination Marketing and Quality and Excellency Assurance, the Government will continue to advocate for more access to promote a growing tourism sector by 2019 and we will ensure that Tourism businesses developed are well planned, profitable and sustainable,” Amituanai told the gathering.
In addition to its Sustainable Sector Development Subcommittee formed in April 2015, the S.H.A Executive Council also announced its three new subcommittees that will focus on key priority areas such as Marketing, Events and Internal Liaisons.
The Subcommittees are chaired by various members of the Executive Council and members of the Association have been co-opted to assist with subcommittee plans.
