The Schuster Family Reunion took place last month July 12th-17th saw more than 500 family members in attendance from around Samoa and overseas.

Marina Keil, President of the Reunion Organising Committee said, “Our family set up a ‘Charity Box’ during the week of reunion, and it was up to you to give what was in your heart.

We were also to choose which charity to donate to. There were a few organisations we took into account, but our family’s hearts was set on Mapuifagalele.”

The elderly residents were grateful for the surprise visit.

Su’a Peter Schuster, president of the Schuster Elders Committee presented $2000 tala to the Little Sisters of the Poor for Mapuifagalele.

He said “We are extremely happy to donate, because we have family members who have stayed here so it is only right to show our gratitude for the good work the Little Sisters of the Poor continue to do for our elderly parents,”

Sister Josephine thanked the Schuster Family for the donation to Mapuifagalele and said it will go towards the needs of the elderly. S

The Schuster Family will have their next reunion in Samoa in three years time.

And after the success of this one, it promises to be an even bigger one.
