The most deserving athlete Samoa has ever produced. It is a great testament to Ele Opeloge’s hard work and commitment to her sport and her country over a long period of time.
It is also a great testament to the Samoan Weightlifting programme that she was locally born and bred and did her training in Samoa.
The facilities built for the 2007 South Pacific Games have borne fruit.
Gym 1 and 2 have had non-stop use ever since and have been a breeding ground for quite a few medals at Oceania, Commonwealth, and now Olympic levels.
