Learning is part of a life long journey.

With that in mind, Seve Asiata A. Gerard Tuii Anapu has completed another leg of his journey having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts specialising in Behavioral Studies and International Relation with Minors in Philosophy and International Studies from Monash University Melbourne Australia.

The 22--year –old is the youngest of 11 children. The son of Tafafuna’i Tavai and A’anapu Matiu Aiali’i hails from the villages of Sa’anapu, Vaega Satuapaitea, Salua Manono, Utuali’i and Matautu Falelatai.

Seve admits that the journey was tough.

But he persevered because he was determined to succeed.

It all began at Samoa College and the N.U.S where he managed to score a scholarship to Australia.

“For me personally, receiving a scholarship to study in Australia marked a turning point at which I assumed a new level of responsibility for supporting my family,” he said.

“And is one thing that’s keep me going.”

Seve’s studies took him to Europe and the U.S.A and he finally graduated on 22 May 2017.

He dedicated his success to his parents and family.

“My family means the world to me. The fact that all my siblings are successful I wanted to become successful too.”

“I tried my very best to give back what I owe my parents by concentrating on my studies and doing my best.”

Today, Seve is back home and looking forward to serving Samoa.

“I am back in my beloved village Sa’anapu, serving my village and church through the choir and as a Sunday school teacher. I am also working to serve my country Samoa as a Project Coordinator at UNDP/UNV.”
