A young man from Lalovaea is fighting for his life at the Moto’otua Hospital.

The victim was allegedly attacked by his mother’s brother-in-law with a machete last Sunday.

He sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition.

The accused will appear before court today.

This was confirmed by Police Media Spokesperson, Auapa’au Filipo Logoitino yesterday.

“The mother of the victim lodged a complaint on Sunday against her brother-in-law, saying he used a machete to attack her son."

“The man has been charged with grievous bodily harm.”

An official at the National Health Service told the Samoa Observer that he’s in a very critical condition.

“He has deep wounds to his hands and it will take time for him to recover."

“Luckily, he got here early because he had lost so much blood during the time of the incident.”
