Factoring in security
Dear Editor,
Re: Peaceful Samoa and suicide bombers
One issue not covered in the letter is the cost of installing the type of security measures found at the airports, to ensure the safety of the patrons.
I suspect the people attending these concerts are already paying lots of money and don’t want to pay more to cover the extra security measure costs.
I am sure venue management take a risk management approach to the security issues and probably, on balance, consider the present arrangement as adequate.
One would have thought that survival in a warm climate place like Queensland is higher because a potential suicide bomber would have to wear additional clothing to camouflage the vest carrying the bomb, and therefore more likely to stand out.
And probably walk at much slower pace than the already slow pace the Queenslanders use.
