Nine former employees of Farmer Joe’s supermarket at Sale’imoa have been charged separately in connection with allegations of theft.
The alleged incidents dated back to the beginning of the year and were reported to the Police in May.
The defendants include Kolio Setu, Lafaele Maugaali’i, Leanapapa Tovia, Lester Futialo, Mapusaga Va’alele, Matalena Sanele, Michael Mikaele, Peniata Ropati and Tala Setu.
They before Chief Justice, His Honour Patu Tiava’asu’e Falefatu Sapolu.
Prosecuting the case was Lucy Maria Sio of the Attorney General’s Office while all the defendants stood in prose.
Each of the defendants was asked whether they want to be legally represented in Court.
They said no.
According to the Police summary of facts, some of the defendants were former cashiers and store clerks.
The Police report said that aside from store items removed, it’s alleged the cashiers also took cash from the cash register.
