A school from the big island of Savai’i has rewritten schools rugby history.

Vaiola College has had its name etched in the rugby history books as the first team from Savai’i to be crowned Champions of Samoa Secondary Schools Rugby.

Their claim to the title followed their total domination on the pitch at  St. Joseph’s College, Alafua Saturday afternoon.

The team blew their Upolu opponent,  MaluaFou College, out of the water with a final score, 31-9.  Vaiola showed an impressive show of dominance up front in the forward exchanges and also brilliant out wide, proving too good for their opponents.

Taking home the 16s Boys Championship title was Leififi College who defeated  St. Joseph’s College 17-13.

For the U14’s champions is Wesley College who beat out  St. Joseph’s College 23-20.
