Heavy rainfall continues

Heavy rain continued to cause flooding at different parts of the country yesterday and Wednesday.

At Alamagoto on Wednesday, the road towards Palisi and Vaimea experienced heavy flooding, restricting the movement of smaller vehicles.

Accessing Moamoa was also a problem with only bigger vehicles being able to get past one of the fords on the road.

One of the biggest problems identified was drainage.  While most streets lack any form of drainage, where there were some drainage, there was deluge and the pipes were quickly full.

This meant the water spilled onto the streets and into families properties.

At Tulaele, the notorious ford there was closed immediately.

Members of the public continue to be warned about heavy flooding over the next few days.

Here are some photos from the flooded parts of Apia.
